Why does a Marbella base make a difference?
Mainly for the survey. Outdoor paving depends on levels, ground and access that photos only partly show, and being based at Avenida Antonio Belón means we can visit a Marbella property without planning a long trip around it. We still ask for photos first, so the visit is used for measuring rather than for discovering what the job is.
Marbella belongs to the Costa del Sol Occidental and is one of the coastal municipalities, but not every property is beside the beach. Whether your home sits close to the sea or on a sloping plot further from it changes the drainage and access questions we ask.
Which Marbella areas do we see most often?
We work in the whole municipality. To help you place your property, here are the named areas from our location data, grouped loosely for easier reading:
- Guadalmina, Guadalmina Alta and Guadalmina Baja, San Pedro de Alcántara
- Nueva Andalucía and Puerto Banús, Nagüeles, Sierra Blanca and the Milla de Oro
- Altos Reales, Los Altos de Marbella, Bahía de Marbella, Río Real, Los Monteros, El Rosario, Rícmar, Salto del Agua
- Elviria, Las Chapas, Hacienda Las Chapas, Marbesa, Artola, Cabopino
Calahonda, often mentioned alongside this list, actually belongs to Mijas, and we cover it on our Mijas page. The distinction matters only for paperwork: the town hall whose ordinance applies is always the one where the plot is registered, which your deeds or property tax receipt will confirm.
How do you update a dated terrace?
First decide whether it needs replacing at all. If the tiles are firm, level and drain well, a cleaning and coating route through our sister site for patio and terrace restoration costs less disruption. If they are cracked, loose, slippery or hold water, a new paved terrace is the better investment.
- Lift the old tiles and any loose screed beneath.
- Check the base and correct the falls away from the house.
- Install edge restraints where the terrace meets the garden.
- Lay large-format slabs, pavers or stone in the agreed pattern.
- Fill the joints and leave the site swept and cleared of rubble.
What about barbecue areas, pools and designer plans?
Irregular natural stone under a pergola or beside an outdoor kitchen is a style many Marbella owners like, and it is one of our barbecue and gazebo area services. Around the water, our pool surrounds use class 3 slip-resistant surfaces in line with the Building Code where it applies.
If an architect or landscape designer has drawn your garden, we execute the paving to those drawings and raise any practical question about levels or drainage with them, not around them. We do not draft projects or apply for licences; the municipal ordinance sets the procedure for a given job in Marbella, and your architect or the town hall can confirm it.
For driveways, go to our sister site for driveway block paving. The Costa del Sol Occidental hub covers the comarca, our areas page lists the rest of the province, and you can send us a photo and the approximate m² – free, no-obligation quote.
Frequently asked questions
Where exactly are you based in Marbella?
At Avenida Antonio Belón 3, 29602 Marbella. We are a self-employed paving contractor, and all our sister websites are run by the same person, so whichever site you contact, you deal with the same business.
Do you work in Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro de Alcántara?
Yes, along with Guadalmina, Puerto Banús, Nagüeles, Sierra Blanca, Río Real, Los Monteros, Elviria, Las Chapas, Artola, Cabopino and every other part of the municipality.
Is it worth replacing old terracotta terrace tiles?
If they are loose, cracked, slippery when wet or the terrace holds water, usually yes. If they are sound and only weathered, a restoration with cleaning and a tinted coating may give you a refreshed look with far less work.
Can you lay crazy paving under a pergola?
Yes. Irregular natural stone is laid on a prepared base, the pieces are fitted to keep joints even, and the joints are filled so the floor is firm. We lay the floor; the pergola or barbecue is built by others.
Will you follow my landscape designer's drawings?
Yes. We lay the paving to the design and, if a level or drainage detail looks problematic in practice, we raise it with the designer so the solution is agreed rather than improvised on site.
What slip resistance will my pool surround have?
We recommend class 3 under the Spanish Building Code, which requires it for pool surrounds within its scope. Whether your private villa is formally within that scope is a point your architect can confirm, but the recommendation stands.
Do you handle permits with the Marbella town hall?
No, we do not file applications. The current ordinance sets the procedure for your outdoor paving in Marbella, and the town hall can confirm it. We provide the scope and material information that you or your architect may need.
Do you pave driveways as well?
Driveways are covered by our sister site for vehicle entrances, run by the same contractor. This site concentrates on terraces, patios, pool areas, garden paths, barbecue zones and outdoor steps.
Can you visit while I am in Marbella for a short stay?
Yes, if you tell us your dates in advance. Send photos beforehand so the visit can focus on measuring and discussing options while you are there in person.
Where can I see what affects the cost?
Our sister site sets out the main cost factors and has a calculator. We keep figures off this site and send a written quote based on your photos and the survey.
